Q.Is a Golden Retriever right for me?

Golden Retrievers are fantastic dogs and they’re a great addition to most families, but Goldens do have some very important requirements. First, young dogs and puppies need room to run and play, and should be trained basic obedience at the very least. They require this time to keep their mind and body healthy. It’s very important to understand this is non-negotiable. Those with a busy lifestyle, are away from home a lot, and must leave their dog at home for long periods of time for work etc., are not an ideal fit for one of our Golden Retriever puppies. When a golden is not given ample exercise and left unattended they will challenge their owner for pack leadership and can form destructive behaviors, plus training becomes much more difficult. This could all result in an unfavorable relationship between the owner and their dog.
